Dear Friends,

This past month has been busy in the Youth and Family Ministry.  I am very grateful for the time and talent that Brenda Ackerman, Gail Dutto and Allicen Cooper have given and are willing to continue to give to our church youth.  We have spent many hours reviewing books, lesson plans, and the needs of the youth and teens.  I have composed a wish list of books and CD’s that would help us expand the lessons to our youth (see page 5 ).  Therese Finn has graciously offered to keep this list in the Spiritual Resource Center for anyone interested in purchasing something to donate for the youth and teens.  Therese has also informed me that if you purchase these through the Spiritual Resource Center she can save you shipping and tax on items she can purchase through Amazon!  The church benefits from the purchase and you can save a little money; what a great thing. 

MARK YOUR CALENDAR
September 12th is Grandparents Day!  Our teens and youth would like you to stay after second service and enjoy an ice cream social.  Bring your grandchildren or grandparents and make your own sundae!  Donations will be accepted to support Youth and Family Ministry. I was able to attend the Youth and Teen Ministry course offered the second week of August at Christ Unity Church.  I learned so much and am excited to help our youth and teens grow along their spiritual paths.  I am so grateful this course was offered close to home!

Each Sunday

All children and teens come into the sanctuary at the end of the service and share their lesson for the day. They lead the congregation in the Prayer for Protection and participate in the Birthday blessings that are celebrated the first Sunday of the month.

Unitots

UniKids and UniTeens

Sundays, 11:00 a.m.
Ages 6-12
Location: Youth and Family Ministry Wing
Facilitator: Rev. Ruth Ackerman

Our curriculum focuses on teaching Unity principles in a way that engages the culture that our children live in. Lessons include stories and creative expression activities. Children may be signed in as early as 10:45 a.m. Please be sure an adult is present before leaving your child in the classroom. Children should be picked up immediately after the church service.

Volunteer Opportunities

Be part of the rewarding service of helping to lay a strong foundation of love and Unity principles for our youth. Opportunities are available for committed teachers, helping hands, and teen sponsors. Share the uniqueness of yourself and learn more about Unity as you participate in this important work. Materials and training are provided. Contact the church office for more information or see Rev. Ruth Ackerman, our Youth Education Director.
