Children’s Spiritual Power Hour

We consider it a great privilege to serve you and your family. We believe that learning, worshiping, teaching, and growing with children and youth of all ages is an important part of our ministry and spiritual life. It’s our hope that we have created a fun, exciting environment where your kids can experience God, and help you make church a place where your kids want to return to again and again.

When you arrive, please register your child in our main Youth Education room and then proceed to join us in the sanctuary where children (Age 3 to 13 years) join with their families and the rest of the congregation for our morning welcome, opening songs, and prayer. Together we offer a blessing for the children and then they move to the youth education area led by one of our teachers.

During their spiritual power hour, they participate in many hands-on creative arts and crafts, pray, meditate, sing, learn positive affirmations, all mixed in with fun and play. We teach our children that they are loved, valued, and important because that is how God created them. We believe that as they learn to engage directly with the presence of God within, it will shape their minds and hearts, so they come to live positive, productive lives.

Curious parents, please know that you are always welcome and invited to sit in on a children’s Sunday lesson and know that all our volunteers and teachers are screened

with background checks to ensure the safety of our children. If you have any questions, please contact us to speak to Rev. Cherie Larkin at RevCherie@unityofauburn.com or our Teen Director, Michael Lawson, Michael@Lawsonmusic.com

Youth and Teen Program

Uniteens Middle School Ages 11-13

Meets Sunday’s 10:00-11:00am

Developmentally, preteens are on the edge physically, emotionally, socially, and spiritually. They have questions about God. About themselves. About where they fit in the world. They’re deciding what they believe. They need more than a place to ask questions—they need a community.

Preteens are inundated with technology but starving for relationship. Our lessons are not about learning from a screen—it’s learning through interaction and exploration. It’s real, simple, and genuine.

We offer an environment to help them grow their faith and spiritual understanding. Our lessons are built around Unity’s Five Basic Principles and the following values:

  • You’re accepted just as you are.
  • We respect each other’s thoughts and struggles.
  • We’re all in this together.
  • God is here, a powerful presence in your life.

Nothing has the power to transform your pre-teen’s life better than creating a safe, fun environment where he or she can be active, build deep friendships, and most importantly learn to draw closer to God.

Youth of Unity, Y.O.U. High School Ages 14-18

Meets the first and third Wednesdays of the month

4:00-5:15pm at Unity Church of Auburn

Youth of Unity, Unity of Auburn, CA for teens ages 14-18, is a dynamic youth group which is a chapter of a world-wide youth movement, International Youth of Unity. Our goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that recognizes each youth as a whole spiritual being, promotes spiritual growth, physical and emotional health, and positive self- esteem. We provide a spiritual atmosphere where young people can meet new friends, be joyful, feel safe and supported, give, share, receive, grow, learn new skills and have fun.

It is a balance of study, prayer, service, social activities, and skill building that involves, motivates, and stimulates our youth to demonstrate what they are in reality—Spirit in expression. Unity’s beliefs and principles help youth to discover the Truth and know that they can make a difference. It also helps prepare them for a meaningful future adult life.

Youth MinistriesYOU in Auburn meets the 1st and 3rd Wednesday’s of the month. We also gather with other YOU chapters in the greater Sacramento area for fun Fridays and other activities, including Region-wide Rallies which include YOU chapters from any of our 15 regional Unity churches in the Northern California area.

This year, post-covid, we are excited to get back to in-person mini-rallies! A YOU Mini Rally is a 1-day communion with Spirit. Activities include large group workshops, small group discussions, singing, meditation, dancing, prayer, and vespers.

Please contact our Teen Director, Michael Lawson, using the form below if you would like to connect about getting a youth involved.
